Argonian's Revenge
Chapter 2: Finding new allies
It had been weeks now since his capture as Cog-rein has now settled in his extremely small, dirty, poor excuse for a cabin that Lord Alervu had gave around another 20 or so slaves young and old. His bed was cut in half like a piece of cheese to give all the other slaves their own piece. It was a extremely cold night on the farm just northeast of Vivec. But what kept Cog-rein hopeful everyday was the cheering coming from the city's arena.
While the argonian listened to the swords slash against each other a small beetle had crawled up on his calf. He gazed his eyes down on it and let it crawl on his hand. Suddenly the smell of the crisp uberhulk larva had rekindled his heart. He went back looking out the rotten hole through the wall near his bed. He winced his eyes as his argonian senses kicked in. His sight zoomed in on 2 ordinators that their Lord had hired to protect his slaves from kidnapping.
One Ordinator in particular his right pauldron broken in half had a long beard you could tell as his long silk hair threaded to the bottom of the mask. He was old and more mannered then the younger one. They were shooting arrows at a small netch.
Cog-rein began to shut his eyes as crickets lullabied him to sleep. But suddenly a small bump on the wall from the other side of the room made him jump of fear as he had thought it one of the Alervu here to torcher the slaves for entertainment. It was an older argonian in his teens, he was warm red color on his belly and got into a tiger stripe like design into black back.
Cog-rein waved over to him to get his attention. The other argonian noticed and walked over to Cog. “Whats your name hatchling?” he asked. “Hey! I'm Cog-rein Sharp Tongue and I'm no hatchling!” Cog-rein huffed. “Heheh I was just kidding us argonians have to stick with each other ya know” the teenager stated. “By the way my folks used to call me Eylei-Nur Daggermouth but you can call me Eylei” he continued. They shook hands as Cog-rein smiled meeting his new best friend in this hellish time.
The next morning was the same routine Cog-rein had  grown on. One of the ordinators slammed the wrickety door open as all the slaves jumped up. “Alright you foul beasts lets plant some new seeds to feed the city of Vivec!” The children all rushed out wanting to prevent their whipping from happening. The older argonians and khajiit slumped their way past the ordinator as he slapped their backs as they got out.
From their new friendship formed last night Eylei and Cog-rein were working together. The morning sun rejuvenated Cog-rein and his scales. As Cog-rein pulled back the moist warm soil Eylei planted the seeds of carrots into it and Cog covered it over again. That was pretty much what the younger slaves did, plant the seeds. It seemed Cesa Alervu had a rule “Once they grow to give offspring they rake the acre.” And Lord Alervu owned nearly 20 acres of land.
Cog-rein pulled his patched up pants he had been given. He could smell that a younger argonian had once wore these torn and bloody pants but had died from exhaustion. Suddenly the Alervu manor's front door opened as Lord Alervu stepped out to watch his work force. He had his hands behind his back grinning as he strutted like he had a stone up his ass. As he walked past the ordinators he nodded as they walked out to the newer slaves' work.
The ordinators kicked the previously planted seeds and shoved others down and laughed. Their chuckles muffled by their disgust masks. Cog-rein's hatred grew every moment he saw his brethren and khajiit tortured. “Now replant these you blackwood heathens!” the ordinator commanded.  All the children ran towards the uprooted seeds and all slammed into each other. Both ordinators and Alervu laughed and pointed as the argonians shook off the daze from accidentally ramming their soft heads. Cog-rein grimaced at the ordinators as Alervu noticed. “You there dark one!” he pointed as he stomped over to Cog in a huff kicking up the dust on the rock pathway. “You shall not show that face towards your lord and his family and employees!” he yelled as he kneed Cog-rein in the chest.
Cog-rein was still for a few seconds as he caught the wind that was blown out of him. He slowly got back up and rubbed his bare chest. Cog waddled over to Eylei rubbing tears that were gathering at his eyes. He wanted to sob and flood the land to bring disfortune to the Alervu house. But his argonianhood taught to him by his father did not allow a single drop of his tears to leave him. So he began to plant seeds again with Eylei.
As sun began to set and the planet and its moon began to rise the ordinators whistled in the children while the older argonians continued till midnight. As Cog-rein regrouped with Eylei-Nur a member of the Alervu family grasped Eylei as Cog-rein stopped to see what they were doing.
“Yes he is old enough” she said as she moved every one of Eylei's dreads. She yanked his bicep and pulled him out to the field as Cog-rein reached for his friend's hand in anxiety. But the older ordinator punted Cog-rein back to his cabin. Flicking every on of his finger with claws in a row like a wave Cog-rein insulted the ordinator in his thoughts the only place that Alervu had no control over.
Cog-rein opened the door to his cabin letting the other younglings in as they looked at him with the corners of their eyes as each one passed. Some smiled and others bared their fangs at him. He didn't care or notice he was thinking up a way to escape as he looked back and saw the older slaves teach Eylei new tricks and maybe just maybe to forget about Cog-rein.
